Here are some examples of my work. I hope these videos illustrate my versatility as well as my experience.
This is the first showreel I’ve produced since Covid. So, I don’t think I’m overdoing it, self-promotion wise. I’m sure that the showreel is now a completely outdated concept (and the footage here is pretty dated now too), but hopefully it will remind anyone who’s interested that I’m still available as a reporter, voiceover and commentator.
These recent examples of my work were edited by my son Oliver Skippings, who just graduated from the University of Sussex with a first-class degree in Media Production. As well as editing, he’s a talented sound and lighting engineer. Of course, I hope he picks up much more work over the next few years than I do, but for now we’re both available.
I’m aware that some of the videos on this page are showing their age now, especially the one at the bottom! A report for London Weekend Television on Chelsea’s FA Cup win in 1997 proves that I have been doing this for a very long time – and also that the years haven’t been kind!
I’m also available for voiceover work away from sport, whether it’s commercials, corporate projects, documentaries or narration. I have recording facilities at home if your deadline is tight. Please have a listen to my audio demo.

And now, something from my youth. Well, relative youth. A couple of things strike me about this package, apart from the lack of grey hair. I remember spending the day shuttling camera tapes to and from a satellite truck parked on the side of the road, something my students find baffling now when they can use their phones. Also, this was the day after Chelsea had won the Cup and we had complete access to the whole team. Also, sadly, something my students won’t experience too often.
